Gordon H. Dixon, DDS, MS
Dr. Gordon Dixon was born in Canada and grew up in Santa Monica, California. He graduated form Santa Monica High receiving a scholarship to play college football. He graduated from UCLA in 1968. In the American Peace Corps, 1968-1970, he taught physical and biological sciences to College of Education students in Andrha Pradesh, India. At UCLA, Harbor General Hospital, Dr. Dixon completed a three-year fellowship and residency in Medical Genetics and Pediatric Dentistry. He is a graduate of the Straight Wire Orthodontic Program and completed a mini-residency in Esthetic Dentistry at UCLA.
Dr. Dixon opened his practice in Mira Mesa in 1979 and moved to the present location in Rancho Bernardo in 1994. Dr. Dixon is a lecturer at the UCLA School of Dentistry and is a clinical attending dentist within the Graduate Pediatric Dental Program.
He has served on the UCLA and SD Children’s Hospital Cleft Palate team, CHHC trauma team, UCSD’s craniofacial clinic and has helped the dental volunteer staff at the La Paz, Baja California Craniofacial interdisciplinary team. He is a Past Chairman of the San Diego Dental Society’s Children’s Dental Health Month and Past President of the San Diego Chapter of American Society of Dentistry for Children. He is a member of the Anderson Dental Center Staff at Children’s Hospital.
Gordon is most proud of his wife Cathie, a dental hygienist, his son Bryce and his twin daughters, Hillary and Stephanie.
Dr. Dixon’s interests include gardening and playing in the Men’s Adult Baseball League.
